Volunteer Clearances

Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer at Saint Leo the Great Church.  There are several ways to serve.  Whether you want to help clean the Church, read at Mass, help with planning events, or even work with children, there is a place for you.  Please note that in order to work with children, the Diocese of Harrisburg requires specific credentials:

In compliance with Diocesan and PA State regulations on child protection, volunteers who work with, supervise, and who have routine guidance of children are required to go through a screening process that involves multiple background certifications to ensure that individuals with a record of abuse do not have access to children. All volunteers who go through this process receive training on how to identify and report abuse to authorities. These trained volunteers receive special ID badges who have completed the required background certification and training for the Diocesan Youth Protection Program.

Parishioners wishing to volunteer leading and/or supervising youth must be compliant with the Diocesan Youth Protection Policy in order to volunteer with children. Information on how to obtain your clearances can be found on The Diocese of Harrisburg web site regarding Adult Church Volunteers.  All paperwork should be returned to the school office. If you have any questions regarding this process, please contact Sharon Hoover at [email protected].
