Saint Leo the Great Parish offers a variety of educational programs for both children and adults.

Saint Leo the Great Catholic School

Welcome to Saint Leo the Great Catholic School, a Pre-K through eighth grade school where education, service, and faith combine to provide each student a foundation of high standards in knowledge and ethics.

Saint Leo the Great Catholic School and You!

At Saint Leo the Great Catholic School, growth in holiness and an academically challenging experience in a nurturing environment is made affordable for everyone! We emphasize spiritual and academic growth of our students in each and every grade. Our full staff of certified teachers and teacher’s aides are devoted to these two most essential traits that make our school authentically Catholic.

Spiritual: Aside from daily instruction by each teacher in our Catholic faith, we have Holy Mass each week, retreats and multiple opportunities to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation throughout the year. Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament occurs every Wednesday at Saint Leo’s, of which classes attend frequently. Our school also participates in Stations of the Cross during Lent, Morning Prayer, Vocations Day, living rosary, teen rosary, Bible Club, and Armata Bianca. The best part is that your whole family can be present for most of these special moments of faith formation!

Academic: Our teachers are all devoted to helping your children learn and also working with you to get the most out of their God-given potential. Our curriculum is highly challenging and we employ technology in a responsible and supportive fashion. We are blessed to have smart boards in every classroom and we utilize advanced software to help our students build their math and language skills, while also building on traditional and foundational reading, writing and arithmetic skills. Most importantly, we honor and respect that parents are the first educators of their children and we have a strong bond with parents in the learning process, grade by grade. Nothing can replace the involvement of actively engaged parents and we involve you every step of the way. We ask for 40 hours of Christian service per family over the course of the year; many families serve hundreds of hours. We also have numerous educational enrichment opportunities outside of class that you can be a part of! There are too many to list here. Please go to our school website www.stleoschool.org/clubs_activities to find out more.

The only thing missing is you!

Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA)

For adults wishing to join the Catholic faith, or for Catholics wishing to deepen their knowledge of the Catholic faith, you may want to join the RCIA program.

RCIA is a program designed for those who are not members of the Catholic Church, including the non-baptized, those who were baptized in another Christian Church or adults who were baptized Catholic but never received the Sacraments of Eucharist or Confirmation.

The process begins with an inquiry period, followed by religious instruction needed to understand the teaching and tradition of the Church. Full initiation into the Catholic Church is celebrated at the Easter Vigil.

RCIC – The Rite of Christian Initiation for Children The Rite of Christian Initiation for Children is comparable to the RCIA except that it is for children who wish to join the Catholic Church. Instruction is directed to their level of understanding.

For more information please contact the parish office at 717.394.1742.
